Manchester City went one step closer to successfully defending their Carabao Cup title as they beat Burton Albion in the semi-final of the competition and will now have to wait to know which side they are going to face in the final between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. Back in the FA Cup, the Citizens would look to advance to the next round as well when they take on Burnley in their next match in the fourth round of the tournament.
Burnley, on the other hand, have not been in the best of forms this season and it would be a big challenge for them to get the better off the reigning Premier League champions in their own backyard.
Team News
Manchester City have almost a full-strength squad at their disposal except for long term absentee Claudio Bravo. Vincent Kompany is also out with an injury and would be assessed before the match against the Clarets.
Goalkeeper
Ederson would start in the goal for the Citizens and would look to keep another clean sheet against Burnley.
Defence
John Stones and Aymeric Laporte would guard the heart of the Manchester City backline. They would be accompanied by Kyle Walker, who would start on the right-hand side of the defence. Benjamin Mendy, who made his long-awaited return to first-team football in the last match against Burton Albion, could be handed his first start of the season in the FA Cup against Burnley.
Midfield
Fernandinho would start in the defensive midfielder position right in front of the backline. Bernardo Silva would get the nod ahead of Kevin De Bruyne to start alongside David Silva in the central midfield for the Citizens.
Attack
Raheem Sterling could start as the wide attacker from the right-hand side while Leroy Sane would put in a shift from the left. Sergio Aguero might be the forward leading the line for the Citizens in the match against Burnley.
Predicted Formation: 4-3-3
