Norwich City and Leeds United seem to be running away with the automatic promotion spots at the moment as both of them managed to win last weekend’s game. The Canaries trail the Whites by just one point so any slip up from the current table toppers could see the Canaries go top. Norwich have a tough assignment midweek as they take on Nottingham Forest who are fighting to stay in the playoffs race.
The clean sheet in the last game would have satisfied Daniel Farke the most as they have usually failed to keep it tight at the back and often their forward players have rescued them in the past games. The manager would be looking for a complete performance from his side against a very good Forest side.
Team News
Moritz Leitner had recovered from his calf strain and started the last game against Blackburn Rovers. But he could be a doubt for this tie. Centre back Timm Klose is closing in on a return but this midweek tie could come a bit too soon for him. Matt Jarvis, Louis Thompson and Carlton Morris are all likely to miss out once again.
Norwich City Predicted Lineup Vs Nottingham Forest
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Former Dutch international Tim Krul is a nailed on starter in goal for the Canaries. Christoph Zimmermann and Ben Godfrey are likely to continue as the centre-back pairing, and they would hope that they can repeat their performance from the weekend where they helped their side to a clean sheet.
Young Max Aarons has been a revelation in the right back spot, and he should once again start in his usual role. Jamal Lewis is likely to start from the left back position.
Midfield
Moritz Leitner started the last game, but given that the games are coming in thick and fast and he has just recovered from an injury, we expect Mario Vrnacic to start in his place in midfield. Alexander Tettey should partner him in deeper areas, and his job would be to shield the back four.
Marco Stiepermann should start in the no. 10 role just behind the striker and he would have the onus to provide that creative spark in the final third. On the right, we expect Emiliano Buendia to keep his place. However, there were some injury concerns regarding him as he was substituted in the last game. Todd Cantwell should hold his spot down the left flank.
Attack
Teemu Pukki came to his side’s rescue once again as he scored a late goal against Blackburn. The Finnish striker has turned into a real fan favourite, and he is set to lead the line once again at Carrow Road against Nottingham.
