Real Madrid kept their winning run intact with a 6-1 win over minnows Melilla in the Copa Del Rey and now they would be looking to do the same when they take on Huesca away from home in the La Liga. The Galacticos’ domestic form has been nothing worth mentioning this season, and they would be eager to change that as the season progresses.
Los Blancos are currently placed in the fifth position in the league table. Santiago Solari’s men notched up a significant victory in their last match in La Liga against Valencia at home by 2-0, as they look to revive their season and finish in the top four after a disastrous start. However, the reigning European champions have faced a number of defeats against the lesser teams this season and should be cautious about not making any mistakes against their opponents when they meet Huesca at the Estadio El Alcoraz.
Team News
Toni Kross and Mariano Diaz (both picked up minor injuries) are back in training and would be assessed before the next match. Midfield ace Casemiro, who picked up an ankle injury against AS Roma, will be back in the starting lineup for the next game. Gareth Bale, who was rested for the match against Melilla, is also set to start against Huesca. Defender Nacho Fernandez, however, will have to wait some more time before he can jump back in action.
Goalkeeper
Despite his brilliant performance in the Copa Del Rey clash against Melilla, Keylor Navas would probably be replaced by Thibaut Courtois in goal for the next fixture. The big Belgian clinched back to back clean sheets against AS Roma and Valencia and would look to continue his good run in the La Liga encounter as well.
Defence
The duo of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos will start in the heart of the backline for Real Madrid after getting a well-deserved rest against Melilla. Marcelo will accompany them in the left back position while Dani Carvajal would put in his shift from the right side.
Midfield
Casemiro will start in the defensive midfielder position after an injury lay-off alongside the Balon d’Or winner Luka Modric. Dani Ceballos will accompany them in the central midfield.
Attack
Lucas Vazquez has been in good form in the last few outings and will start in the wide attacker role from the right-hand side while Gareth Bale would put in his shift from the left side. Karim Benzema will lead the line for the Galacticos in the crucial encounter against Huesca.
Predicted Formation: 4-3-3
