Norwich City were held to a draw by Bristol City, and as a result, they were toppled from the top of the table by Leeds United. However, Daniel Farke’s side are still firmly placed to qualify via the direct promotion spots, and they would look to get back to winning ways against Blackburn Rovers.
A trip to Ewood Park is never easy and Tony Mowbray’s men have the ability to spring up a surprise even though they are currently languishing in mid-table.
Team News
Moritz Leitner was finally back in the squad against Bristol City after he missed few games due to a calf strain. However, he didn’t play a single minute as the manager might introduce him slowly to the first team. Timm Klose is closing in on a return but it is not yet known whether he would be hundred per cent fit to start the game. He too might find himself on the bench for this tie. Matt Jarvis, Louis Thompson and Carlton Morris are likely to miss out due to their injuries.
Norwich City predicted lineup vs Blackburn Rovers
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Tim Krul is a nailed on starter in goal for the Canaries. The defence has let the team down in the last few games, and the manager would hope that his side can improve on that in this tie. The absence of Timm Klose hasn’t helped either. Christoph Zimmermann and Ben Godfrey are likely to carry on as a defensive pair if Klose isn’t fit for this tie as well.
Max Aarons rescued a point by scoring a goal against Bristol City. His attacking output from the right is a significant threat, and he should once again start in his usual position. Jamal Lewis provides the same from the left, and he too is expected to keep his place.
Midfield
If hundred per cent fit, Moritz Leitner can start this game, but we aren’t too sure of that at the moment. So the midfield should be occupied by the likes of Mario Vrancic and Alexander Tettey. The latter would be in a more subdued role whereas Vrancic is expected to have the freedom to bomb forward when required.
The attacking onus from the midfield is likely to be provided by the likes of Emiliano Buendia who is going to start from the right, Marco Stiepermann who should be in the no. 10 role and Todd Cantwell who is expected to begin on the left flank.
Attack
Finnish striker Teemu Pukki has been in great form, and he should once again lead the line for the Canaries.
