Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Merseyside to take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday evening at the back of an excellent 2-0 away win against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup this week. Mauricio Pochettino looks to have found the winning formula at North London as his Spurs team have bounced back from their disappointing 4-2 away defeat at Arsenal earlier this month with three successive victories in the Premier League.
The North London giants will line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation as they look to close the gap to Liverpool at the top of the league table.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
Hugo Lloris is a guaranteed starter in Pochettino’s first-team after he managed to keep a clean sheet away at Arsenal on Wednesday night. The French keeper is slowly growing in confidence and would hope to keep things tight at the back against the Toffees at Goodison Park.
Both Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth will operate in central defence looking to keep the Everton attackers at bay this weekend. Jan Vertonghen will not feature in the game due to injury while Davinson Sanchez will be in a race against time to be fit for this encounter at the Merseyside.
Serge Aurier is a significant doubt for this clash, so Kieran Trippier is expected to start at right-back. Ben Davies might get the nod to operate as the left-back ahead of Danny Rose, who was heavily involved against the Gunners in midweek.
Midfield
The Spurs midfield might be comprised of Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko who would look to work tirelessly and distribute the ball well in midfield. The trio of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Heung-min Son could be unleashed ahead of them as they aim to link up with each other effectively and create some good opportunities in the final third.
Both Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura will be at Pochettino’s disposal on the Tottenham bench.
Attack
Harry Kane has looked a real threat in the opposition half over the last few matches so he will be expected to register his name on the scoresheet this weekend. The England international has scored 13 goals in 24 games for Spurs in all competitions so far this season so he should be a major headache for the Everton defence on Sunday.
