West Ham United clinched their fifth win in six matches as they got the better of Southampton in their last encounter. Manuel Pellegrini’s side would look to keep their winning run intact when they take on Burnley next, a team which received a 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Everton in their last outing.
The Hammers are undoubtedly in very good form at the moment and would look to get the better of the Clarets who are coming off a heavy defeat. However, it would not be an easy task for the east London club as they will have to deal with Burnley away at Turf Moor.
Team News
Pellegrini has a severe situation in his hands with as many as seven of his key players struggling with injuries. The likes of Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic are all sidelined with injuries, and now Fabian Balbuena, Pablo Zabaleta and Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez have also joined the lengthy injury list and might be unavailable for the next match.
Goalkeeper
Lukasz Fabianski has been doing a fabulous job in the goal for the Hammers and would once again start in the next match.
Defence
With Balbuena in doubt to start, Angelo Ogbonna would begin at the heart of the backline alongside Issa Diop. Pablo Zabaleta might also be missing due to injury, which means Michail Antonio would start in the right-back role while Aaron Cresswell would put in his shift from the left.
Midfield
Declan Rice and Pedro Obiang would start in central midfield. Robert Snodgrass would accompany them as the attacking midfielder while Felipe Anderson, who scored twice to win the match against the Saints, would put in a shift in the left midfielder role. Grady Diangana starts in the right side of midfield.
Attack
With Chicharito in doubt to feature and Arnautovic unavailable for the next match, there is not much choice in Pellegrini’s hands as he would have to go in with Lucas Perez to lead the attack. The Spaniard did well in the Southampton match but looked far from being a hundred percent fit.
Predicted Formation: 4-2-3-1
