According to a recent report by UOL, Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is gathering interest from Everton, Arsenal and West Ham United. The same report has also revealed that the Brazilian midfielder is currently weighing up his options and will make a decision on his future in the coming days. However, it is expected that he would consult the Red Devils coaching staff before making his decision.
In a recent interview mentioned by the Metro, United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær revealed that he is willing to give his players an opportunity to showcase their talents and said, “Everyone in the squad knows that ‘I’ve got a chance now’ because whatever has gone, whatever has happened has happened. Now it’s just about from here.
“Everyone starts with a clean slate and we want players to perform, and we’ll give them the chance.
“We have got 23, 24 players, they’re all quality and they’ll all get a chance now. With the amount of games coming up, they have got a chance to show that they are Manchester United players.”
The 22-year-old has featured in just seven matches for the Mancunian giants this season as Jose Mourinho chose to use him as a sporadic option at Old Trafford. However, Solskjær’s arrival at the Theatre of Dreams could see Pereira make more appearances for the Red Devils in the coming weeks as the fixtures come thick and fast in the Premier League.
The Brazilian prospect is undoubtedly an incredible talent who has a lot of potential to be a future star in English football. At the mere age of 22, he is a very effective dribbler with the ball at his feet and can run the channels to provide some additional width for his team.
Although, Perreira primarily operates as a right winger, yet he has often been asked to play in a more central role at Old Trafford which goes on to show how versatile he can be for the Red Devils. Moreover, the ex-PSV Eindhoven playmaker can link up play well with his teammates in the attacking third of the pitch and can also find the back of the net from long-range.
If the 22-year-old does end up leaving United for a new club in January, it would be a double blow for Solskjær as he would not only lose a player with massive potential but will also lose him to one of his team’s fellow Premier League rivals, if recent reports are to be believed. Hence, the Reds of Manchester are better off keeping hold of their Brazilian youngster for now.
