According to a recent report by the Express, Manchester City are monitoring Isco’s situation at Real Madrid after recent speculation linked him with a move away from the Spanish capital. It is understood that the Spanish international has fallen out of favour with Santiago Solari. However, the new Galacticos manager has denied those claims and has insisted that he is happy to let Isco stay at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium for the time being.
In a recent interview mentioned in the Express, Solari said, “Honestly, I think there’s not really anything to talk about here,”
“I spoke the other day. These are things that happen, they are decisions that have to be made. That’s it.”
The Spanish prospect has a £620m release contract in his contract, and according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, Isco could make a switch to England if the right offer comes in for him. The Express has mentioned that Inda weighed his thoughts on the story and said, “They [Real Madrid] consider that Isco is not involved in the group, that he is doing his thing, that he is having problems with his weight – so he is thinking of going to the Premier League.
“He has an offer from Chelsea and another from Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
“I think that in a style of play like City’s he could do very well.
“Cristiano Ronaldo did not like to play with him because he said he kept the game a lot.”
What Will Isco Add To Guardiola’s Team?
The 26-year-old can be considered as one of the best playmakers in the La Liga. However, the lack of first-team starts in recent weeks hasn’t helped Madrid’s cause in retaining his services. Isco has tremendous ball control which allows him to dribble with the ball out of tight areas and pose a real threat going forward. The Spaniard has an eye for a decisive pass and can also score goals consistently from both inside and outside the opposition penalty box.
Is He The Right Fit For The Citizens?
If Pep Guardiola can somehow manage to bring him to the Etihad Stadium, then it would further bolster City’s attacking options at the blue half of Manchester. At 26, Isco is about to embark upon the peak years of his career so the Citizens could benefit from his talents if they manage to land him in the coming years.
The former Malaga prospect has made 14 appearances for Los Blancos this season, scoring two goals while creating one assist in all competitions. His incredible versatility and undeniable class makes him a perfect fit for Guardiola’s style of football at Man City.
