Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is happy with life at Anfield after initially struggling to get first-team chances under Jurgen Klopp. The Brazilian put in an eye-catching display in his team’s 3-1 win over Manchester United last Sunday. Speaking to the club’s official website, the former Ligue 1 midfield ace talked about his current state of affairs and said, “I’m really happy and well settled at the club, with the team and with the style of play,”
“In the last few months I’ve started playing a lot more so I’m feeling really good on the pitch being able to help the team and I’ve adapted really well to life off the pitch as well. Everything is great with my family, they’re enjoying Liverpool.”
He also went on to add, “The city as well: me and my family really like it so we feel at home in Liverpool.”
His words will delight the Liverpool fans especially after recent reports linked him with a move away from the Merseyside club. The Brazilian is slowly starting to justify the £43.7m fee which Klopp decided to pay to AS Monaco last summer to secure his services.
The 25-year-old has already racked up 13 appearances for the Reds across all competitions and has one assist to his name which came against the Red Devils last weekend. Fabinho has also earned six international caps for the Brazilian national team during his career so far. He has developed a reputation for doing the dirty defensive work in the middle of the park due to his ability to read the game and make some timely interceptions.
Fabinho provides the steel to Jurgen Klopp’s midfield so it is no wonder that the Reds boss has decided to play him in some of the most high profile matches in the league this season. The Brazilian talent is still learning how to adapt his game to Klopp’s system and is expected to play a vital role in Liverpool’s title challenge this season.
His recent revelation will be a huge boost for the Liverpool manager as he tries to get the best out of every player in his squad. With fixtures coming thick and fast over the next few weeks, Klopp will need every one of his squad members to chip in and keep their title aspirations alive.
