Arsenal will travel to Merseyside to take on Liverpool as they look to cause an upset and come away with a win from Anfield. The Gunners are still in contention to secure a top 4 spot at the end of this campaign, but they can’t afford to lose any more ground to Chelsea, who managed to claim a victory against Watford on Wednesday night.
Both sides are in a rich vein of form so they would fancy their chances against each other this weekend. Unai Emery could choose to set-up his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation to try and stop the Reds from dominating possession in midfield. The Arsenal boss is also expected to make some changes for this crucial encounter at Merseyside this weekend.
4-2-3-1 Arsenal Predicted Lineup To Face Liverpool
Defence
Bernd Leno will start in goal for the Gunners on Saturday as Petr Cech takes his place on Emery’s bench. The central-half duo of Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Laurent Koscielny might feature at the centre of the Arsenal defence for this upcoming league clash at Anfield.
Stephan Lichtsteiner might start at right-back looking to put in a much-improved performance after his mistake cost his team the win away at Brighton on Wednesday. Sead Kolasinac will be deployed on the other side as he looks to put in another solid display at left-back.
Midfield
Emery is expected to opt for the midfield pair of Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira who would both look to stop the Liverpool midfielders from dominating possession at the centre of the park.
The promising trio of Alex Iwobi, Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey might start ahead of them as part of the Gunners attack this weekend. Iwobi has impressed a lot of people with some dazzling displays for the North London outfit this season, so this would serve as another excellent opportunity for him to showcase his talents in a high-profile match.
Attack
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will spearhead Emery’s attack up top. The Gabon forward is currently the Premier League’s top goal-scorer, so he will be confident about getting his name on the scoresheet at Merseyside on Saturday evening.
