Norwich City are continuing to set the pace at the top of the Championship table, and they have shown their resilient side with some late goals in quite a few games now. Next, they travel to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City, a team lying in the mid-table. On current form and standing, the Canaries should march on and secure three points, but one cannot count out an upset.
Bristol City have found some form of late as they are undefeated in their last three games but continuing this run would be tough against a good Daniel Farke side.
Team News
Matt Jarvis and Carlton Morris are long-term absentees and they are going to be unavailable for this tie. Louis Thompson is also set to miss out as he has not yet recovered from the dislocation of his shoulder. Moritz Leitner and Timm Klose should be closing in on a return.
Norwich City Predicted Lineup Vs Bristol City
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Tim Krul is once again expected to start in goal for the Canaries. Ben Godfrey is likely to partner Christoph Zimmermann in defence. However, Timm Klose should be close to returning, but he might find himself only on the bench for this tie if he is not 100 per cent.
Young Max Aarons has firmly established himself as the first choice right back, and he should continue playing in his usual role. Jamal Lewis should start down the left, and his attacking outlet is helpful to the Canaries.
Midfield
Moritz Leitner is likely to recover from his calf strain injury, but it remains to be seen whether he would be fit enough to start this game. We believe he might just be on the bench and the manager is expected to go in with the midfield duo of Mario Vrancic and Alexander Tettey. The latter will be in a more conservative role whereas Vrancic would have the freedom to go further up the pitch.
Emiliano Buendia is expected to start down the right flank in the attacking third. German Marco Stiepermann is likely to continue in his attacking midfield role. Todd Cantwell should start down the left.
Attack
28-year-old Teemu Pukki is in the form of his life right now, and there is no doubt that he should once again lead the line for his side. The Finnish striker has managed to make 14 goal contributions in 17 Championship games including 11 goals, and Farke would once again hope that his in-form forward can deliver the goods.
