Chelsea managed a hard-fought draw against Vidi in their last match of the Europa League as they entered the round of 32. They would look to put that disappointment behind as the Blues take on Brighton and Hove Albion in their next encounter in the Premier League.
Maurizio Sarri’s men are currently in the fourth spot on the Premier League table and would look to strengthen their position with a win over the Seagulls. However, it would not be an easy task for the west London club as Brighton would also look to bounce back to winning ways in front of their home crowd after the loss against Burnley in their last match.
Team News
The only injury worries that Sarri has to deal with are that of Mateo Kovacic and Alvaro Morata. Both of them would be assessed ahead of the match against Brighton.
Goalkeeper
Kepa Arrizabalaga would start in the goal for the Blues after getting a well deserved rest in the last match.
Defence
The duo of Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz were rested in the match against Vidi and would start for the next encounter in the heart of the defence. Captain Cesar Azpilicueta will begin in the right back position while Marcos Alonso returns to the left side of the backline after missing the Vidi encounter.
Midfield
In the absence of Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley would start in the midfield. Jorginho and N’Golo Kante would return to the lineup as well after getting a deserved rest during the midweek matchup.
Attack
Willian would start in the right-hand side as the wide attacker. Eden Hazard returns to the team and would put in a shift from the left. Alvaro Morata, who picked up an injury and is unsure of starting in the next match, would be replaced by Olivier Giroud.
Predicted Formation: 4-3-3
