Tottenham will travel to Wales to take on Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium hoping to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Spurs will be in dire need of the three points from this contest as they try to keep their faint title hopes alive. However, the Bluebirds will be confident about their chances of causing an upset in midweek after they earned a win against Leicester City through a late injury-time goal on Saturday.
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and might make a few changes to his backline for this encounter.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Cardiff City
Defence
Hugo Lloris will line up as Pochettino’s first-choice keeper once again despite shipping in three goals at home to Wolves in his last league outing. The French goalie’s form has been average at best this season, so he needs to start improving on the pitch or else risk being replaced by Michel Vorm or Paulo Gazzaniga.
The Tottenham defence might be comprised of Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth in central defence. Pochettino could hand Davinson Sanchez a rest after his heavy involvement against Wolves on Saturday.
Kyle Walker-Peters might get a start at right-back following his incredible display against Bournemouth a few days ago when he created three assists. Spurs would line up with Danny Rose operating as the left-back.
Midfield
Both Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko have been a regular feature for Spurs at the middle of the pitch so they should get a start for this Tuesday’s away clash against Neil Warnock’s men. The terrific trio of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, and Heung-min Son could be scheduled to play ahead of them as they would hope to have a far better game than what they did against Wolves.
Both Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura could start on the Spurs bench and might come on during the match if needed.
Attack
Harry Kane has scored in each of his last two matches and is currently enjoying a rich vein of form in the Premier League. He is in the running to secure the English top-flight golden boot so there will be a lot of motivation for him to perform at a high level over the next few weeks.
