Chelsea will travel to Hungary to face off against Vidi in the final match of their UEFA Europa League group having already qualified for the knock out stages. The Pensioners should leave all of their usual first-team starters out of this clash as Maurizio Sarri should look to ring the changes on Thursday night keeping one eye on the upcoming fixture against Brighton this weekend.
The West London outfit could line up in a 4-3-3 formation with Callum Hudson-Odoi making a rare start alongside Olivier Giroud and Victor Moses up top.
4-3-3 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Vidi
Defence
Willy Caballero will get a chance to start in goal for the Pensioners against Vidi in midweek. The Argentine keeper has made just three appearances for Chelsea this season and has conceded five goals at the back.
Maurizio Sarri is expected to opt for a central defensive pairing of Andreas Christensen and Gary Cahill so that he can hand both Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz some rest ahead of a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend. Davide Zappacosta is going to start in the right-back position while Emerson Palmieri might feature on the other side as the left-back.
There is not much riding on this match so they will under less pressure than usual, but Sarri will still hope to get a strong performance out of his backline on Thursday night.
Midfield
Cesc Fabregas will feature in midfield as he has become a first-team regular under Sarri during cup matches this season. Both Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will play alongside the Spanish midfielder at the middle of the park. Loftus-Cheek has been in a rich vein of form in recent times after he found the back of the net against Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively.
Attack
Callum Hudson-Odoi should get another chance to impress down the left flank while Victor Moses could feature on the right as he looks to use his pace to cause problems for the Vidi defenders. Olivier Giroud will lead the lines for the away side as he looks to return to goal-scoring ways in a Chelsea shirt.
