Liverpool will face off against Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening looking to stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League table. The Reds are currently leading the league with a healthy six-point gap over Spurs and would need to pick up maximum points from this clash if they want to keep the momentum going in their favour.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to stick with his preferred 4-3-3 formation and might hand Fabinho a start in midfield for this crucial encounter versus the Gunners.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Alisson Becker will lineup in goal for the Merseyside outfit after keeping another clean sheet against Newcastle United at Anfield on Boxing Day. Simon Mignolet will be a part of the Reds bench as usual.
The defensive pair of Virgil Van Dijk and Dejan Lovren will continue at the centre of the Liverpool defence in the absence of Joel Matip and Joe Gomez who would be unavailable due to injury.
Trent-Alexander Arnold should keep his place at right-back ahead of Nathaniel Clyne while Andrew Robertson looks to put in another tireless shift on the left side of Klopp’s backline.
Liverpool are currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table, and one of the primary reasons for their recent success has been their outstanding defensive record which is why we can expect another solid display from the Liverpool defenders this weekend.
Midfield
The trio of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum could be deployed at the middle of the park as they look to create some chances in the opposition half. All three of them have been quite impressive in recent weeks so they should get the nod to start in midfield, especially in the absence of James Milner and Naby Keita who could both miss out due to injury.
Attack
Jurgen Klopp will once again rely on his fantastic front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah to produce the goods in the attacking third of the pitch. Salah managed to score against the Magpies in midweek which should give him a lot of confidence heading into this clash against the Gunners at Anfield on Saturday.
