Manchester United played hosts to Arsenal at Old Trafford earlier tonight hoping to pick up maximum points from this contest. The Gunners made a breakthrough in the 26th minute through Shkodran Mustafi’s header, but it took United just four minutes to come up with a response through Anthony Martial’s finish from close range. Both teams went in level at half-time in what was turning out to be a heated encounter at Manchester.
The away side regained their lead in the second half when Alexandre Lacazette scrambled the ball into the United net in the 69th minute. However, Jose Mourinho’s men came up with a quick response when Jesse Lingard took advantage of a defensive error by the Gunners defence to tap in the equaliser. The game finished 2-2 with both teams living to fight another day.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player performed during the match against the Gunners.

The Spanish keeper made a blunder in the first half but made a couple of world-class saves to deny Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and keep his team in the contest.

It was an impressive return to action for Bailly. He commanded the United defence well and won a lot of headers during the match.
CB: Chris Smalling – 6/10
The English centre-back was a calm presence at the back and did enough to justify a start in Mourinho’s first-team.

The Argentine defender gifted Lacazette a goal in the second half and struggled to cope with the pace of the game.
RWB: Diogo Dalot – 6/10
He found it difficult to contain the threat of Sead Kolasinac but did enough defensively to keep him quiet.

The Serbian was average at best during the game and found it hard to cope with the pace of the Arsenal counter-attacks.

The United midfielder worked his socks off in midfield and was responsible for setting up Martial’s goal.

The English international capitalised on a defensive mix-up to punish Arsenal and hand his team a point from this encounter.
LAM: Anthony Martial – 7/10
The Frenchman scored the all-important first equaliser to ensure that his side went in level at half-time.

The Arsenal defenders managed to mark him closely which made life difficult for Rashford. However, he still tried to make a positive contribution during the game which is commendable.

The Belgian international didn’t do enough on the pitch.
