Manchester City are facing a tough time in the Premier League en route to their title defence. After making a great start to their campaign this season, Pep Guardiola’s men suddenly faced the harsh reality of losing to Crystal Palace and Leicester City in back to back matches. They have now slipped to the third spot in the league table, trailing Liverpool by seven points and Tottenham by a single point.
However, they will look to bounce back to winning ways when they lock horns with Southampton in their next match. The Saints were on a high having won back to back games under their new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl before losing to West Ham United last night. They are set to give the Citizens a run for their money. Team News
Manchester City have Bernard Mendy and Vincent Kompany on the injured list and Fernandinho have joined them as well. Fabian Delph is also unavailable following his suspension, having received a red card in the last match against Leicester City.
Goalkeeper
Ederson did not have the best of times in the last two matches and conceded five goals. However, he will be the one to start in goal for the Citizens once again in the next game and would look to cope with the might of a re-energised Southampton attack.
Defence
John Stones and Aymeric Laporte would start in the heart of the backline. They would be accompanied by Kyle Walker on the right while Oleksandr Zinchenko would put in a shift as the left back in the absence of Mendy and Delph.
