Raheem Sterling scored twice as Manchester City went onto win their contest against Southampton by 6-1. Apart from him, Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane and David Silva scored one goal apiece after Wesley Hoedt’s unfortunate own goal gave Citizens the lead against the Saints in the first half.
The match was almost decided in the first half itself as City scored four times before the half-time whistle with their last two goals coming in the second half. The Saints managed to get the ball in the back of the net only once as Danny Ings converted a penalty for them, but it was already too little too late for them.
This win would see the reigning Premier League champions hold onto their place at the top of the league table firmly after their closest competitors, Liverpool could only draw their match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Here is how the Manchester City players were rated from their win against Southampton.
