Real Madrid are looking to get their 2018/19 season back on track, both in Europe and on the domestic front under their interim manager Santiago Solari.
The Argentine, who has no prior experience of managing a senior side at any club, has worked wonders with the current team of the Galacticos and is yet to lose a match since taking over from Julen Lopetegui. Los Blancos have won all the games under his tutelage so far, which is excellent news for the club and its faithful.
If the reports are to be believed, then there is more good news awaiting the Champions League trophy holders. Manchester United’s attacking ace Alexis Sanchez might be on his way to join the Galacticos and is already in talks for a possible switch. The Chilean joined the Red Devils last summer, but it seems that he is not willing to stay at Old Trafford for long.
Real Madrid lost their talismanic forward Cristiano Ronaldo in the previous summer, which left a massive gap in their attack. Mariano Diaz was brought in to replace him, but he has struggled so far this season and has been left on the bench for most of the matches. Speculations are rife that the Spanish club might make a move for Sanchez in January who might replace Diaz in the squad.
The former Barcelona ace is reportedly unhappy at Manchester United and wants a move away from the club. His form has also taken a dip in recent times, and he has not been able to replicate his form from the Arsenal days since his move to Old Trafford. A step back to the La Liga might be the right thing to do for the player, where he became a menace for the defenders partnering up front with Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr.
However, given his current form, it might not be the right move for Real Madrid to make and they should invest the money elsewhere. Besides, the Galacticos already have players like Vinicius Junior in their ranks, who, if given ample exposure, might become one of the best forwards in the World (I know it sounds hyperbolic, but he is really that good) and lead the attack for the European champions in the near future.
So it would be better for the European champions to drop their interest in Sanchez (if there is really any) and look to invest and strengthen other departments like defence and midfield.
