After their disappointing start to the season, Real Madrid have finally come back to winning ways and have lost none of their last four matches in all competitions. They have also scored 15 goals in the previous four games and are looking to continue their good run in the future as well.
The Galacticos are looking to add players to their squad in the January transfer window with a long season ahead of them. Speculations are rife that they have their eyes on their former defensive ace Mario Hermoso and are willing to bring him back to Santiago Bernabeu in January.
The player was sold by Los Blancos last season as he was not utilised under Zinedine Zidane and was left out of the squad. However, he has had a decent outing with his current club Espanyol and was also called up by the current manager of the Spanish national team Luis Enrique to be a part of his side in their UEFA Nations League clash against Croatia, which La Furia Roja lost by 3-2.
Real Madrid are currently facing a crisis period in their defence with most of their first team players sidelined with injuries. Marcelo, Raphael Varane, Dani Carvajal and Nacho are all out injured, and reinforcements are needed on an urgent basis. The addition of an in-form player like Hermoso will be a big boost for the new manager Santiago Solari and his side.
The Argentine has done well so far with whatever resources he had at his disposal, but he would need more players to strengthen the squad for the future. Hermoso can be a very good option in the heart of the Real Madrid defence and can offer stability to them.
Real Madrid are also hopeful of getting the 23-year-old player into their side in January as it will cost them only around £7million as per the terms of the agreement that was signed between them and Espanyol when they let the player leave the last term.
The Galacticos’ defensive record this season have been miserable so far, and they are in need of a quality centre-back who can solve this crisis. Their worst defeat came at the hands of arch-rivals Barcelona, who scored five goals against them in the El Clasico played at the Nou Camp, which led to the dismissal of their former manager Julen Lopetegui as well. The pursuit of Hermoso is a very positive approach by the reigning European champions to bring stability to their lineup.
