If the latest reports are to be believed then Manchester United attacker Alexis Sanchez wants to move out of the club already after finding it hard to settle in at Old Trafford. The Chilean is known to be on record wages at the moment but is now clearly behind in the pecking order for the left wing spot behind Anthony Martial who has hit a good run of form after getting some regular game time of late.
Report from the Times mentions that the Chilean is keen to move to the Ligue 1 to play for French heavyweight Paris Saint Germain. It remains to be seen though whether the French club would be interested in him in the first place as they have a plethora of attacking options at the moment.
It is believed that Sanchez is struggling to get along with his team-mates and is also not helped by certain personal matters affecting his life. Further, the Chilean isn’t too fond of Jose Mourinho’s style of management. This would be disappointing for the United faithful if it is true as a lot was expected out of the Chilean when he was brought in a swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
It was considered that Arsenal were getting the rougher deal as they were letting their best player go for someone who was finding it tough to get into the playing eleven at United. But now the result is there for everyone to see as Sanchez has failed to establish himself whereas Mkhitaryan has found his footing under Unai Emery.
It will be interesting to see whether United would think about letting him go after just one year at the club. However, if the player himself is keen on a move, then the club should think about selling him but not until next summer.
United have too many problems to deal with at the moment in the squad and letting go of even a misfiring Sanchez in winter doesn’t make sense. Plus his likely destination which is Paris Saint Germain are highly unlikely to go after him until and unless there are departures from their side.
For the time being, Sanchez might have to bide his time on the bench as Martial is doing exceedingly well at the moment. Mourinho though still uses Sanchez from the bench and having someone of quality like him can be a game changer for the Mancunians as the season progresses. However, the recent reports are definitely unsettling if you are a United fan.
This is not the first time that a big player has failed to adjust to life at Old Trafford in the past few years. Angel Di Maria, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Radamel Falcao, Marcos Rojo all came in with great reputation just like Sanchez, but something or the other didn’t click, and the Chilean seems to be following the same direction.
