According to a recent report by the Sun, Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is prepared to part ways with Jose Mourinho in favour of a move to Real Madrid if he is not able to secure regular first-team opportunities at Old Trafford this season. It is understood that the Galacticos have been monitoring Rashford’s progress for quite some time and were present to witness his performance for England in their 2-1 win against Croatia last weekend.
A source close to the Red Devils recently revealed, “Marcus is United through and through but he’s a bit frustrated at Old Trafford.
“It has been a stop-start season for him.”
The same report has also claimed that United are valuing him in the region of £50m as his current contract with the club is set to expire at the end of next season.
Los Blancos are yet to find a proper replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo but could fill the void left by the Portuguese superstar by bringing Rashford to the Spanish capital. It is no wonder that the English forward wants to leave the Mancunian heavyweights as he has only been a sporadic feature under Mourinho this season which has left him frustrated.
The 21-year-old has featured in 13 matches for the Reds of Manchester this term, scoring just two goals while creating one assist in all competitions. He has impressed at times but has often lacked the cutting edge inside the opposition penalty area, much to the annoyance of the Man United fans.
Will Rashford’s Departure Be A Big Blow For Mourinho?
Maybe it is the ideal time for Rashford to move on in search of greener pastures as there are only a few places better than the Santiago Bernabeu to start a fresh challenge. The departure of Rashford will reduce United’s squad depth significantly unless they can find a ready-made replacement.
The English forward was born and brought up in Manchester and has a lot of potential to become a future world-beater in European football. Hence, it will be a massive blow for the Red Devils to lose one of its local talents which won’t go down well with the Man United supporters.
