According to a recent report by the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he has no intention of parting ways with Fabinho, just five months after the Brazilian midfielder arrived at Anfield from AS Monaco in a £43.7m deal.
The 25-year-old had been linked with a move away from the Merseyside club with Juventus and AC Milan being tipped as likely destinations. However, those rumours can finally be put to bed as Klopp is willing to be patient with his prized asset.
The Campinas born midfielder finally made his debut for the Reds last month and had put in a few commanding performances for the Merseyside giants in recent weeks. His most notable display came in the UEFA Champions League against Red Star Belgrade at Anfield when he completely ran the show at the centre of the park.
The Liverpool supporters have already seen signs of what he can offer on the pitch, but they would need to be patient if they want to witness Fabinho playing at his best level. It will take some time for the former Monaco star to adapt his game to the physicality and high intensity of English football.
What Does Fabinho Bring To Merseyside?
The Brazilian talent is a commanding presence in midfield and can make well-timed tackles and win possession back for his side. Fabinho is not afraid to make his presence felt and is ready to go that extra mile for his teammates.
Despite not being as effective with the ball as some of his other colleagues at Anfield, Fabinho still offers his own unique set of defensive skills which should help the Reds in their quest of mounting a realistic title challenge this season.
Was It The Right Move By Klopp To Keep Him?
There is no reason why Klopp should give up on his summer signing in January, so soon after his move to the North-West of England. It seems like a logical decision by the Liverpool boss to retain his services at least for the time being so that Fabinho gets a fair shot at proving his worth in the top tier of English football.
