Manchester United will take on Juventus at the Juventus Stadium in Turin hoping to bounce back from their home defeat versus their Italian opponents last month. The Red Devils are in desperate need of a result in the UEFA Champions League this week so that they are left with a good chance of qualifying from their group.
However, it won’t be easy to stop the threat of the Juve attackers in front of a packed crowd in Turin. Jose Mourinho is expected to opt for a 4-3-3 formation and might name Ander Herrera in his starting XI.
4-3-3 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Juventus
Defence
David De Gea will continue his goalkeeping duties for the Reds of Manchester away at Juventus this week following his heroics against Bournemouth which helped his team come away with maximum points from last weekend. Despite failing to keep a clean sheet, the Spanish keeper produced a brilliant display in goal which would give him a lot of confidence going into this clash at the Juventus Stadium.
The defensive duo of Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof seems to be Mourinho’s first-choice centre-backs at the moment so we can expect them to start on Wednesday night.
Ashley Young should fill in as a makeshift right-back once again versus Juve while Luke Shaw looks to put on a tireless shift on the left-hand side of the United backline. There have been signs of improvement from the Man United defenders in recent weeks with the Premier League club conceding just three goals in their last three matches across all competitions.
Midfield
Mourinho might opt to start with three midfielders at Turin to try and stop Juventus from dictating play at the centre of the park. So we can expect the trio of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera to line up for the Red Devils as they hope to stifle the Juve midfield and set up some chances for the United frontline.
Attack
The talented trio of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez might be unleashed up top with Mourinho desperate for some goals in the UEFA Champions League after his side failed to score in any of their previous two fixtures in the prestigious European competition.
