Celtic seems to have found their bearings, but the 0-0 draw against Livingston just before the international break was a dampener. However, that was enough to send them on top of the table on goal difference, and Rodgers’ men even have a game in hand over Hearts. The artificial pitch certainly adds another level of difficulty and the Bhoys would once again come up against it at the SuperSeal Stadium when they take on Hamilton next.
Hamilton were handed a drubbing by St Johnstone last time around as they lost 4-0 and the Accies would be looking for a much better display in this game if they want to come out with anything.
Team News
The Bhoys have been cursed with injuries of late, but the good news is that Leigh Griffiths is back in training. However, Olivier Ntcham still seems some way off from being available. Scott Brown is also back in training, but this game could come too soon for the midfield veteran. Eboue Kouassi and Daniel Arzani are out for the rest of the season.
Kieran Tierney missed Scotland’s game against Albania due to a knock but should be fit in time for this weekend tie. Kristoffer Ajer should be out after he went through a surgery on his face after breaking his eyeball socket.
Celtic Predicted Lineup vs Hamilton
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Craig Gordon should continue as the no.1 in goal for Rodgers after he sat out the last game due to a hip problem. Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic have been rock solid as a centre-back pairing, and they should once again start in their usual roles.
Mikael Lustig has been underwhelming in his performance but with no other option, he should start in the right-back role and should continue captaining the side in the absence of Brown. Tierney should be fit just in time for this clash and is going to start in his usual left-back role.
Midfield
Ryan Christie recently signed a new deal with the club, and he has done brilliantly in the absence of other midfielders. He should start once again. With the busy time of the season coming, Youssouf Mulumbu might see some game time to give other players a breather, and we believe this game is perfect to start him from the beginning. The attacking onus further up the pitch should be provided by the likes of Scott Sinclair, Callum McGregor and James Forrest.
Forward
Griffiths might be back in training, but Odsonne Edouard should continue leading the line for Rodgers.
