West Ham United will play hosts to Burnley at the London Stadium on Saturday looking to bounce back from their narrow midweek loss at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur. The Hammers managed to gain a point from their last league outing despite going down to 10-men against Leicester City.
This match could see the return of Marko Arnautovic as Manuel Pellegrini prepares his team to line up in a 4-1-4-1 formation.
4-1-4-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will start in goal for the Hammers after being rested during their midweek defeat against Spurs. The Polish shot-stopper might be shielded by the defensive pair of Fabian Balbuena and Issa Diop who has already formed a solid partnership in central defence for the East London outfit.
Pablo Zabaleta should come back into Pellegrini’s first-team to operate as the right-back while Arthur Masuaku takes his place on the left side of the West Ham backline. The Hammers defenders will need to step up to the plate and keep things tight at the back if they are to see off the challenge of Burnley this weekend.
Midfield
Declan Rice should retain his defensive duties in midfield in the absence of Mark Noble who is suspended for this clash after picking up a red card against Leicester City last weekend. Rice has arguably been Pellegrini’s best player on the pitch this season, and so this match will serve as another chance for him to showcase his worth.
The duo of Robert Snodgrass and Pedro Obiang could start ahead of the Republic of Ireland international at the centre of the park as they look to create some chances for the front players in the attacking third.
Felipe Anderson should get another start to feature on the left flank as the Hammers are currently going through a mini injury crisis. Grady Diangana managed to put on another impressive display for West Ham in midfield on Wednesday night and thus he should retain his place on the right wing for this upcoming league match.
Attack
Marko Arnautovic will lead the lines for the East London club up top as he hopes to mark a triumphant return from his recent injury. The Austrian forward has been prolific during his time on the pitch this season, and so we can expect him to register his name on the scoresheet versus the Clarets this weekend.
