Brighton & Hove Albion will take on Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday hoping to build on their three successive 1-0 wins in the Premier League against West Ham United, Newcastle United and Wolves respectively. The Seagulls boss Chris Hughton deserves a lot of credit for the remarkable work he has done with the club. However, it won’t be easy for his side to come away with maximum points from Merseyside as the Toffees look to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat at Manchester United last weekend.
Hughton is expected to opt for a 4-4-1-1 formation but won’t have the services of Pascal Groß and Davy Propper this weekend.
4-4-1-1 Brighton And Hove Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
Matthew Ryan will once again line up as the first choice goalkeeper for the Seagulls after securing a well-deserved clean sheet against Wolves last weekend. The solid centre-back pairing of Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk could feature at the heart of the Brighton backline. Gaetan Bong is expected to take his position at left-back while Bruno looks to use his experience on the right side of Hughton’s defence.
The Seagulls have conceded just 13 goals in 10 matches in the league so far which is not a bad record by any means. However, there is still some room for improvement and this weekend’s clash versus Everton will serve as a big test for the Brighton defenders to prove their worth at the highest level.
Midfield
Beram Kayal and Dale Stephens could continue their partnership at the centre of the park while José Izquierdo looks to use his quickness and power down the left flank. The Iranian international, Alireza Jahanbakhsh might start in place of Anthony Knockaert on the right-hand side of the Brighton midfield.
All four of them need to work as a team if they are to stop the threat of the Toffees attackers. They will also be responsible for creating opportunities from midfield which will be a tough ask as they will be up against a strong Everton midfield.
Attack
In the absence of Pascal Groß, Solly March will play just behind Glenn Murray, who will spearhead Chris Hughton’s attack once again up top. The English centre-forward scored the only goal of the game versus Wolves last weekend which should give him a lot of confidence going into this clash.
