Everton have had a rollercoaster of a season so far as they have blown hot and cold during their Premier League matches so far. Marco Silva’s side has experienced their fair share of problems up top, but it is their attacking midfielders who have caught the eye with Richarlison, Theo Walcott and Gylfi Sigurdsson all scoring a bunch of goals this season.
Hence, Silva should concentrate on bringing in more attacking talents to get the best out of his system at Merseyside. Another creative midfielder could give the Toffees an edge over other teams as they can look to promote either Sigurdsson or Walcott to play as a ‘false 9’ forward. A potential option they could look to sign, who might be available on a free transfer next summer, is Aaron Ramsey.
The addition of someone of the Welshman’s capabilities and experience would undoubtedly improve the Toffees midfield. At 27, the Arsenal box to box midfielder still has some good years left in him which the Merseyside club could look to benefit from in the next few campaigns.
What Will The Welshman Add To Silva’s Team?
There is no doubt that Ramsey is one of Arsenal’s best creative midfielders and can be a match-winner on his day. He is not afraid to work hard for the team and can dribble with the ball with ease and grace as he looks to set up his teammates inside the opposition box. Despite netting just one goal so far this season, the Welsh international has acted as a facilitator as he has conjured up three assists in 11 matches across all competitions.
The 27-year-old will add a lot of goals and assists from midfield if he ends up sealing a move to Goodison Park. With the likes of Andre Gomes, Idrissa Gueye and Sigurdsson already at Silva’s disposal, Ramsey could be another big asset for the Portuguese manager as he looks to build a team capable of breaking into the top 6.
Should The Toffees Attempt To Sign Ramsey Next Summer?
The Blues of Merseyside should do everything in their power to try and lure the Welsh talent to Goodison Park as he has the quality to become an Evertonian legend if given the opportunity to prove his worth on a weekly basis. On a free transfer, Ramsey could be one of the bargains of next year’s summer transfer window and Everton would be foolish not to try and recruit him.
