Everton will face off against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday hoping to build on their victory against Fulham. Both teams are currently in a rich vein of form which should make this contest an entertaining one. The Toffees boss Marco Silva is expected to opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and might bring back Cenk Tosun into his starting XI this weekend.
Other than that, the Merseyside club could name a relatively similar line up to what they used against the Cottagers in the previous gameweek.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Leicester City
Defence
Jordan Pickford will feature in goal for the Toffees while Maarten Stekelenburg would play as back-up to the English shot-stopper on Marco Silva’s bench. The central defensive pair of Michael Keane and Kurt Zouma is expected to continue their partnership at the heart of the Everton defence while Jonjoe Kenny takes his place at right-back in the absence of Seamus Coleman who is still out of action with an injury. Lucas Digne will play on the left side of the Toffees backline as he would hope to join in on the attack while also dealing with the threat of Ricardo Pereira.
The Merseyside club has conceded five goals in their last three league outings. However, they managed to keep a clean sheet against Fulham last weekend which should give the away team some much-needed confidence to keep things solid at the back against the Foxes. Moreover, the Everton defenders will come up against an in-form Leicester duo of Jamie Vardy and James Maddison so it won’t be an easy feat to keep them quiet on the day.
Midfield
Idrissa Gueye will operate as a defensive midfielder alongside Tom Davies at the middle of the park. It is expected that the trio of Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurðsson and Theo Walcott would be unleashed ahead of them as part of the Toffees attack in the opposition half.
All three of them needs to have a good game if they are to beat the Foxes on Saturday. Sigurdsson scored a brace versus the Cottagers in his last outing which would give him a lot of belief ahead of this encounter at the King Power Stadium.
Attack
Cenk Tosun scored against Fulham last weekend and might get the nod ahead of Dominic Calvert-Lewin to spearhead Marco Silva’s attack up top. The Turkish forward needs to find the back of the net on a regular basis or else risk being dropped once again from the Everton first-team.
