Barcelona went into the all-important Champions League clash against Inter Milan at the Nou Camp without their talisman Lionel Messi, who is set to be out of action for three weeks with a fractured arm. However, the Blaugrana did not seem to lose their composure at any point in the game as they went onto win the match by 2-0 with goals coming from Rafinha and Jordi Alba.
Here is how the Barcelona players were rated from their convincing win against Inter Milan.
Marc Andre Ter Stegen: 6
Had a rather quiet night in goal with most of the action happening on the other end of the pitch.
Sergi Roberto: 6
Did his job well to get the ball into the final third and defended with a lot of heart whenever needed.
Gerard Pique: 7
Kept the dangerous Mauro Icardi quiet all throughout the night.
Clement Lenglet: 8
Had a great game and left his mark on either end of the pitch. Unfortunate could not get his name on the scoresheet.
Jordi Alba: 7
Was on his mark throughout the match. Started the attack for the second goal and ended it with a beautiful finish to seal the win for Barcelona.
Sergio Busquets: 7
A calm and composed performance from the stand-in captain.
Arthur Melo: 6
Was not the most convincing player in the middle of the pitch on the night. Was substituted by Arturo Vidal in the second half.
Ivan Rakitic: 7
Had a few shots on goal but could not find the back of the net. Kept a continuous supply of the ball into the final third.
Philippe Coutinho: 7
Another impressive performance from the Brazilian. A lot depended on him in the absence of Messi, and he showed he was up to the task.
Rafinha: 6
Opened the scoring for his side with a well-taken shot from a delightful cross by Luis Suarez. Could not threaten the defenders very often though.
Luis Suarez: 9
Caused all sorts of problems for the Inter Milan backline throughout the match. Unfortunate not to get a goal.
Substitutes
Nelson Semedo: 6
Had a decent outing after coming on in the second half.
Arturo Vidal: 7
Brought all his experience into play. Played a brilliant one-two with Jordi Alba to set him up for the second goal.
Munir El Haddadi: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating.
