West Ham United have had a rather mediocre start to their season in the Premier League and have already lost six of their first nine matches so far. This has pushed Manuel Pellegrini’s side down to the 14th position in the league table, and they are in dire need of getting maximum points from their upcoming fixtures.
A stern test awaits the Hammers in their next match in the Premier League as they will travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City. The Foxes have also not been able to get a positive start to their campaign so far this season and will look to win their next match at home. It is a crucial match for both sides and Pellegrini will have to find a way to get back to winning ways.
Team News
The East London side have some injury worries to deal with, including the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko, Jack Wilshere, Winston Reid and Manuel Lanzini all being unavailable for selection. Arthur Masuaku and Pedro Obiang are also on the injured list and have a slim chance of making it into the starting eleven this weekend.
Goalkeeper
Lukasz Fabianski is set to keep his place in the goal for the Hammers. The match against Leicester City will be a tough test for the Poland international, and he will have to ensure nothing gets past him.
Defence
Aaron Cresswell, Pablo Zabaleta, Frederick Balbuena and Issa Diop are set to start in the backline for West Ham. In the last match against Tottenham Hotspur, the Hammers defence played decently but was not able to contain the opposition from scoring against them. However, they will have to turn that around against the Foxes if they are to reverse their fortune.
Midfield
Declan Rice had been deployed as a defensive midfielder in the match against Spurs, and it looks like Pellegrini is going to use him there once again. Apart from him, Robert Snodgrass, Mark Noble and Felipe Anderson are all set to start in the midfield. With no Yarmolenko available, Pellegrini might have to provide Michail Antonio with a starting spot.
Attack
Marko Arnautovic will be the one to lead the line for the Hammers in the next match as well. The Austrian has already scored four goals this season and would surely look to add to his tally.
Predicted Formation: 4-1-4-1
