According to a recent report by Manchester Evening News, Lyon’s club president Jean-Michel Aulas has disclosed that Tanguy Ndombele could leave the club at the end of the current campaign. It is understood that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the 21-year-old’s talents and could make a move to bring him to the Etihad Stadium next summer.
Aulas recently spoke with Radio Scoop in France and revealed, “When players decide to play for Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester… You don’t decide to sell Lacazette or Tolisso, and in the same vein, I can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to keep Ndombele or Aouar next summer.”
This Lyon president’s recent revelation would be music to Guardiola’s ears as he now stands a great chance of landing the player shortly.
The Rise Of Ndombele In France
Ndombele has already put in some outstanding displays for the Ligue 1 giants during the course of this season. The French starlet has made 11 appearances for Lyon across all competitions and had four assists to his name so far. He can be considered as one of the brightest young talents in European football after he put in some eye-catching performances in the UEFA Champions League this season.
Recent Signs Are Promising
Ndombele played the full 90 minutes in Lyon’s 2-1 victory over Man City at the Etihad Stadium last month. He acted as a deep-lying holding midfielder and was able to stop the Citizens from getting a point on the night.
The French Midfielder’s Availability: A Big Boost For Man City?
The Longjumeau-born prospect spent his youth career with EA Guingamp and SC Amiens respectively before making a switch to the Groupama Stadium in the summer of 2017. He has incredible potential and could become a future star in England if given a chance to prove himself at a big club like Manchester City.
His potential availability would be a big boost for the Citizens as they look to build towards a bigger and brighter future at the Etihad Stadium. Moreover, he would be an ideal long-term replacement for the ageing Fernandinho which is why City should look to secure his signature if the opportunity presents itself next summer.
