According to a recent report by Turkish news outlet Aksam, Liverpool outcast Divock Origi could make a surprise move across Stanley Park to Everton in January. It is believed that the Toffees are looking to bring in the Reds centre-forward and could sell either Cenk Tosun or Oumar Niasse to Besiktas to make room for the Belgian prospect.
Origi’s Recent Struggles At Merseyside
The 23-year-old talent has not been named in any of Jurgen Klopp’s match-day squads so far. He has featured in just one Premier League 2 game for the club’s Under-23 side which goes on to show how far down the pecking order he has fallen at Anfield. However, it is worth noting that Origi put on a majestic display during that match as he has scored a goal and has also earned an assist.
His inability to go out on loan earlier this year has halted the Belgian’s football career and now he is in dire need to seek a move away from Merseyside either on loan or permanently during the winter transfer period in search of regular first-team minutes.
What Can The Belgian Striker Bring To Goodison Park?
Origi is blessed with devastating pace and can hold up the ball up quite well using his incredible strength. The Reds prospect can also dribble with the ball out of tight areas which helps him get the better of his marker during 1v1 situations.
However, despite so much potential, Origi does not have a prolific goal-scoring record to show for his efforts as evidenced by his spell with VfL Wolfsburg last season where he found the back of the net just seven times and created three assists in 36 matches across all competitions.
Will Origi Be A Good Signing For The Toffees?
Despite his recent struggles, Origi can be a real handful for any defender if he is on his game. So a move for him in January could be a shrewd one for the Blues of Merseyside. However, it will be highly unlikely to go through considering the heated rivalry between the two Merseyside clubs.
