Celtic faced off against St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership earlier today looking to move up the league table. The Hoops began the match quite brightly and scored the opening goal of the encounter in the 15th minute courtesy of James Forrest’s easy tap in. Brendan Rodgers’ men doubled their lead just seven minutes later through Odsonne Edouard’s low strike.
The Glaswegian giants killed off the contest in the 33rd minute after a superb team move involving Tom Rogic and Forrest with the latter claiming his second goal of the game. He was far from done and scored two more goals before half-time to hand his team a commanding advantage at the break.
Celtic came out on the second half with the points wrapped up and scored another goal in the 84th minute through Callum McGregor. The match ended 6-0 in favour of the Hoops as they returned to form in the Scottish Premiership.

He hardly had anything to do in the game but made a few solid saves when called into action. The Hoops goalie kept a much-deserved clean sheet on the day which would please the Celtic supporters.

He did his job defensively but failed to provide a spark going forward.
CB: Dedryck Boyata – 7/10
The Belgian centre-back commanded his half and secured a hard-fought clean sheet on the day.
CB: Filip Benkovic – 8/10
He looked calm and composed on the ball and covered a lot of ground to keep things stable at the back.
LB: Kieran Tierney – 8/10
The Celtic talent put on a tireless shift down the left flank and made many darting runs behind the St. Johnstone defence. He put in a few telling crosses during the game and looked assured defensively as well.
CM: Olivier Ntcham – 7.5/10
He bossed the midfield alongside Rogic and distributed the ball well throughout the match.
CM: Tomas Rogic – 9/10
The Australian international was a class act in midfield and set up Forrest for Celtic’s third goal which killed the contest off and made the points secure for the Hoops.
RM: James Forrest – 10/10
The Scottish talent scored four fantastic goals in the first half which was enough to give his team all three points from this contest. He was sensational going forward and put on the performance of his life today.
CAM: Odsonne Edouard – 8/10
He held the ball up quite effectively and took his chance in the first half to score Celtic’s second goal of the day.
LM: Callum McGregor – 8/10
The Celtic midfielder had a good game while operating in a deep midfield role. He did register a goal in the second half which should give him confidence in the coming weeks.
ST: Leigh Griffiths – 7/10
He was unlucky not to score during the game but worked his socks off for the Hoops up top.
