Liverpool have made an unbeaten start to their Premier League campaign and are in with a real chance of challenging Manchester City for the league title. The Reds have been defensively sound so far this season after only conceding three goals in nine league matches while keeping six clean sheets in the process. However, there have been some concerns regarding the form of their front three players over the past few weeks.
The trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have all failed to hit the heights of last season which is why Jurgen Klopp might need to dive into the transfer market in January so that he can address some of the striking concerns up top.
Here are three forwards the Reds should look to recruit during the winter transfer period.
Timo Werner
The 22-year-old centre-forward had set the Bundesliga alight with some magnificent performances for RB Leipzig last season. The German talent has continued his good run of form in this campaign as he has already found the back of the net four times while creating two assists in 10 appearances for the Bundesliga side so far.
Werner has incredible potential and could be moulded into a world-class forward by Klopp if he is given the honour to wear the famous Red jersey of Liverpool.
Hirving Lozano
The Mexican prospect caught the eye with some dazzling displays at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia when he was representing his nation against some of the best national teams in the world. The PSV Eindhoven forward has also been quite prolific at the club level after scoring ten goals while providing four assists in 14 matches for the Eredivisie giants across all competitions. There is no doubt that Lozano would be a smart addition to the Liverpool frontline if Jurgen Klopp can manage to sign him in the near future.
Lorenzo Insigne
The Napoli talisman is very versatile and primarily plays as a left-winger, but he can also be unleashed as a secondary striker inside the opposition penalty box. The Italian international has been a prolific goal-scorer for Carlo Ancelotti’s team and caught the eye during his UEFA Champions League performance against Liverpool earlier this month.
His fantastic versatility and incredible potential makes him a perfect fit for the Merseyside outfit. Klopp should consider recruiting him as Insigne might be the missing jigsaw in the Liverpool puzzle this season.
