Wolverhampton Wanderers will make a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on Saturday hoping to continue their good start to life in the Premier League. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men managed to return to winning ways against Burnley last weekend when Raul Jimenez’s goal was enough to snatch all three points away from the Clarets. However, this weekend could prove to be a stern test for Wolves as they have already gotten a result against United’s local rivals, Manchester City earlier this season.
We can expect an open, free-flowing game of football with both teams aiming to claim maximum points from this contest. Nuno Santo will stick with his favoured 3-4-3 formation and is likely to name an unchanged team for this Premier League clash.
3-4-3 Wolves Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester United
Defence
The Portuguese keeper, Rui Patricio would resume his duties in goal for the West Midlands outfit while John Ruddy waits for his opportunity on the bench. The trio of Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady and Willy Boly would make up the three-man defence for Nuno Santo’s team. They have featured in all of Wolves’ league matches so far this season and have built up a strong understanding between themselves.
Nuno Santo will demand a good defensive showing against Jose Mourinho’s United, who are expected to dominate Saturday’s match. Romain Saiss might be named on the bench and could come on during the contest if required.
Midfield
The Portuguese midfield pair of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho are likely to continue at the middle of the pitch with Matt Doherty playing as a wing-back on the right flank. Jonny, who is on loan from Atletico Madrid, would look to use his agility on the left-hand side of Nuno Santo’s midfield.
Wolves’ midfield four would be responsible for providing adequate cover for their defenders while also creating some chances for their forwards to feed on.
Attack
The hard-working duo of Diogo Jota and Helder Costa might be unleashed behind Raul Jimenez, who will spearhead Nuno Santo’s attack once again for the away side this weekend. The Mexican international scored the only goal of the game in his last league outing versus Burnley and would be expected to put in a similar kind of display against the Red Devils.
Jota would also be desperate to make a positive impression in the Premier League after a mediocre start to this season.
