West Ham United will host Macclesfield Town at the London Stadium following their hard-fought draw against Chelsea in the Premier League yesterday. The Hammers have managed to turn the corner after three successive defeats in the league with a victory against Everton and now a well-deserved point versus the Pensioners. So they will go into this clash full of confidence even though Manuel Pellegrini is expected to make a lot of changes to his team for this encounter.
The Hammers boss might opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could give some of his young players like Reece Oxford and Nathan Holland a chance in his first-team.
4-3-3 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Macclesfield Town
Defence
Adrian could make his first start in Pellegrini’s first-team this season for this League Cup clash against Macclesfield Town. The Spanish goalie has played second-fiddle to Łukasz Fabiański and has patiently waited for his opportunity on the bench. This could be his chance to showcase his worth in front of the Hammers fans when he takes his place in goal at the London Stadium in midweek.
The defensive duo of Reece Oxford and Angelo Ogbonna would operate at the heart of the West Ham backline while Ryan Fredericks would look to use his quickness and agility on the right side of the defence. Aaron Creswell would take up his defensive duties at left-back as Pellegrini could hand Arthur Masuaku a well-deserved rest.
Midfield
The trio of Carlos Sanchez, Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang could make up the Hammers’ midfield on Wednesday. They would be responsible for dominating possession and establishing West Ham’s dominance in the middle of the pitch.
Attack
Pellegrini’s frontline might be comprised of the youngster, Nathan Holland starting on the left while Robert Snodgrass looks to use his pace on the right flank. Lucas Perez will spearhead the Hammers attack looking to register his name on the scoresheet.
Both Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez are still nursing their way back from injuries and would be rested for this clash on Wednesday night.
