Manchester United are reportedly preparing a £107m bid to secure the services of Juventus forward Paulo Dybala in January. According to Calciomercato.com, the Red Devils are ready to splash the cash to bring the Argentine international to Old Trafford. However, Juve could be willing to do a straight swap deal involving Dybala in exchange for Paul Pogba heading in the other direction.
Will Dybala Be A Good Fit At Old Trafford?
Jose Mourinho’s side have struggled to find the cutting edge in front of goal so far this season, scoring only six goals in 4 league matches. Except for Romelu Lukaku, none of their forward players has managed to deliver the goods on the pitch which is why the potential addition of Dybala would be a perfect fit. The Argentine attacker is precisely the type of talent who can come in and galvanise Mourinho’s squad so that they have enough firepower up top to secure a top 4 finish this season.
Dybala will not only add more competition for places within the United squad but will also push players such as Alexis Sanchez, Juan Mata, Marcos Rashford and Anthony Martial to strive for excellence during their time at Old Trafford. Hence, Mourinho should do everything in his power to convince the Argentine international to make a switch to Manchester in January.
What Will Dybala Add To The Man United Attack?
The South American talent primarily operates as an attacking midfielder and is blessed with blistering pace which helps him dribble with the ball at speed and make late runs behind the opposition defences. He is also a good passer of the ball and has a habit of scoring goals from midfield.
Dybala would bring a lot of pace, dynamism, creativity and goal-scoring threat to the Red Devils’ attack which is what’s required for Mourinho to turn things around at Old Trafford.
Will Dybala’s Addition Be A Wise Move For The Red Devils?
As long as Mourinho can negotiate a cash-only deal for the Argentine star, it makes complete sense for United to bring in a player of the calibre of Paulo Dybala. However, if the Red Devils have to sacrifice Paul Pogba to bring the Juve speedster to Old Trafford, then it might not be a deal worth pursuing unless they find a suitable replacement for the French midfielder.
Acquiring the services of Dybala would be a wise move but only if Mourinho does not have to give up any of his prized assets.
