Liverpool will entertain Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday night hoping to continue their 100% winning record this season. The Reds have won all seven of their matches so far in all competitions and would welcome the Pensioners in front of their home supporters in midweek. Jurgen Klopp is expected to make a whole host of changes to his side and might hand Fabinho the first start of his Anfield career.
The Reds boss could stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and would line up with Daniel Sturridge and Xherdan Shaqiri who should spearhead the Liverpool attack up top.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Simon Mignolet is expected to start his first match of the season under Klopp when Chelsea visits Anfield on Wednesday night. The Belgian has been an understudy to Alisson Becker so far this season and will finally get his chance to impress for the Reds in midweek.
Dejan Lovren could recover in time to start this encounter against the Pensioners alongside Joel Matip who put on a man of the match display versus Southampton on Saturday. Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno will operate as the full-backs on either side of the Liverpool backline. The duo has not featured for the Merseyside club this season and would be expected to put in a decent shift for Klopp’s side on the night.
Midfield
The trio of Fabinho, James Milner and Naby Keita will line up at the centre of the park as Klopp would look to rest both Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum for the upcoming weekend’s league clash versus Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Keita has impressed at times for Liverpool this season while Milner has been Klopp’s most consistent performer on the pitch. This occasion will mark as Fabinho’s first start for the Reds since his big-money move from AS Monaco earlier this summer.
Attack
Adam Lallana will be in a race against time to be fit for this clash. The English playmaker is likely to start alongside Daniel Sturridge and Xherdan Shaqiri, who have both caught the eye with their performances for the Reds this season.
