Real Madrid will play hosts to AS Roma at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Wednesday night with the hope of bouncing back from their disappointing draw away at Athletic Bilbao. The Galacticos have made a strong start to this campaign and would look to retain their Champions League crown for the fourth consecutive year when they face off against Eusebio Di Francesco’s team in midweek.
Julen Lopetegui is expected to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and might opt to bring in Casemiro for this European clash. However, Isco could still be on the bench despite scoring versus Bilbao last weekend.
4-3-3 Real Madrid Predicted Lineup To Face AS Roma
Defence
Thibaut Courtois will line up as the primary keeper in Lopetegui’s first XI once again while Keylor Navas awaits his chance on the Madrid bench. The centre-back partnership of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos should continue at the heart of the Galacticos backline even though they conceded a goal in each of their past three outings in the league. Marcelo would resume his duties at left-back while Dani Carvajal looks to join in on the attack down the right flank.
The Galacticos defence has not kept a clean sheet since their opening La Liga game versus Getafe which should be a cause for concern. AS Roma could prove to be a real test of their defensive capabilities on Wednesday night.
Midfield
The terrific trio of Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric are likely to line up at the middle of the field. All three of them have begun the season in good form and would have their hands full while going up against AS Roma’s strong midfield.
Isco might have to settle for a place on the bench despite scoring the equaliser for Madrid in the second half against Athletic Bilbao.
Attack
The fantastic front three of Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale are expected to lead the lines for Los Blancos. Asensio has caught the eye with some dazzling performances in recent weeks so Madrid would hope that he can put on another excellent showing for them against their Italian opponents.
Both Bale and Benzema managed to get their names on the scoresheet against Leganes earlier this month and would look to replicate a similar kind of display when they lace up versus AS Roma in midweek.
