According to the Metro, Manchester United‘s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is in line to find a Director of football for the club. This will reportedly be the first time in the history of the Premier League club that they will be having someone in the aforementioned position and they have a few names on their wishlist.
As per reports, Woodward has been busy with the transfer dealings while Jose Mourinho is the one to take charge of the team, While these two will normally be involved in every proceeding, the director of football will be stealing away some of the limelight from that of Mourinho.
The Red Devils are having their eyes on a few already to take over the post at the club and they are interested in the likes of Monchi of AS Roma and Fabio Paratici of Juventus, but speculations are rife that the Manchester club is willing to bring in their former goalkeeping ace and Dutch legend Edwin Van Der Sar for the post of their first director of football.
The 47-year-old is currently working with Ajax as their CEO and is well acquainted with the administrative nuances. Besides, he has an in-depth knowledge of how things work at Manchester United as he was part of them from 2005-2011 and can be the right candidate to take on the charge of the director.

As per reports, Jose Mourinho has been visibly unsatisfied with the kind of transfer window he had this summer and is in agreement for the restructuring of the club’s hierarchy. Bringing in a new director will hopefully help the manager to invest more time into the transfer market and develop his team into a stronger one by recruiting the right players.
