According to The Mirror, Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard’s father has accepted the fact that his son will never be playing for Real Madrid. The Belgian ace returned to the first eleven for Maurizio Sarri’s side in their third match of the season against Newcastle United, which the Blues won by 1-2.
Hazard had a superb World Cup campaign in Russia and led his team to a third-place finish in the competition. He has long been linked with Real Madrid and speculations were rife that the Belgian captain might be joining the Galacticos as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who left Santiago Bernabeu this summer in favour of a move to Juventus.
However, from Hazard senior’s words, the situation now seems unfavourable for the Belgian superstar to make a move to the Spanish capital. This has given the Blues a great chance of tying down their talisman to a new contract, which was reportedly rejected by him in December.
The west London club had a forgetful last season in the Premier League and European competition and the last thing they will need is Eden Hazard to leave Stamford Bridge this summer. As per reports, Chelsea are looking to offer him a mega contract of £300,000-per-week as they look to revive their attempts to keep the Belgian skipper at the Bridge. It goes without saying that his father’s words will be a big boost for the Blues in their pursuit.

Thierry Hazard said, “I cannot say why it did not go through. Not because I do not want to but because I do not know.
“Next year, Eden will have one year left on his contract but perhaps he never ends up in Madrid.”
