Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore is going to be a Wolverhampton Wanderers player by today. The winger is undergoing a medical today. His signing will also be the all-time record signing for Wolves as it will surpass the £15m fee that they paid to Porto to acquire Ruben Neves. The fee for Traore is said to be worth £20m.
The West Midlands club is expected to pay £10m upfront for that and the other half of the fee will come in instalments. Nuno Espirito Santo has made some shrewd signings since he took over the club and the result is there for everyone to see.
The 22-year-old winger is the product of Barcelona‘s academy and he slowly went up the ranks with the Catalonian giants. However, he failed to break into their first team given the talent they already had at their disposal and Traore was sold to Aston Villa in 2015. The Teessiders bought him in 2016 and the winger played a crucial role in Tony Pulis’ side last season as they reached the playoffs.
Traore is known for his bursting pace down the right wings and when in full flow, not many defenders around the world will be able to match him. However, he needs to add more goal threat to his game as he often fluffs his line after getting into good positions.

Many expect Santo’s side to do well in the Premier League given the signings they have already made. At Wolves, Traore will have to fight for his place as they already have good options in Ivan Cavaleiro and Helder Costa. It will be interesting to see whether the Spaniard will get regular opportunities or will h be used only as a squad player.
