Leeds United have made a fantastic start to their EFL Championship campaign under Marcelo Bielsa’s tutelage and find themselves at the top of the league standings after playing five Championship matches so far this season. However, with 37 league matches still left to play, they need to build on their good start by getting some favourable results over the coming weeks to ensure that the Whites are in a good position to challenge for the league title in the second half of the campaign.
Bielsa has been successful in transforming the West Yorkshire team from Championship mediocrity to a real title contender but there is still a long way to go, and the Elland Road outfit needs to maintain the same level of performance if they are to truly compete for the title towards the latter stages of the season next year.
Here are a few players they can look to add on loan in the final few days of the transfer window if the Whites are to ensure a successful, title-winning season in the second tier of English football.
Sheyi Ojo
The Liverpool youngster is not in Klopp’s plans for the new season and could benefit from a move to Elland Road. Leeds can add more firepower to their attack by capturing his services on loan before the end of this month.
Ojo will add more pace and dynamism up top and can link up well with the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Ezgjan Alioski, Kemar Roofe and Mateusz Klich.
Juan Foyth
The Tottenham Hotspur centre-back could bolster Bielsa’s defensive options significantly ahead of the new campaign. The Whites should undoubtedly look to snap up his services on loan as he will add more depth to the Leeds squad which can help them challenge for the title even when some of their first-teamers are missing in action.
The club is currently facing a mini-crisis with quite a few of their players sidelined due to injuries.
Reece Oxford
The 19-year-old centre-back is not a regular starter for West Ham United and needs to make a move on loan if he wants regular first-team football. The Whites require a new defender who can come in and do a job for them with Liam Cooper out of action for the time being. Reece Oxford should serve them well as a great loan option for the whole season.
