As per reports published in ESPN, West Ham United have sent a team of officials to Portugal to sign Yacine Brahimi. Reports also convey that they are looking to sign Moussa Marega. Both of them currently ply their trade for Portuguese giants Porto.
The Hammers have been quite active in the transfer market as they have signed as many as seven players in the transfer market and are still looking to make more signings. A lot will be expected out of the East London outfit who are set for a new beginning under Manuel Pellegrini.
The 28-year-old has now been with the Portuguese giants since 2014 and has played an instrumental part in their success in the past few seasons. The left winger enjoyed a productive campaign last season as he contributed with 12 goals and 10 assists in 49 encounters. West Ham have already signed two wingers in the form of Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson, however, both of them prefer to play down the right wing.
A successful coup of the Algerian winger will really make Pellegrini’s men as a team to watch out for in the upcoming season. However, the Chilean manager will face a big challenge in getting his team to adjust to a system in a short span of time as the new season is now just less than 10 days away.
Brahimi has decent pace and is extremely nimble on his feet. He has the ability to wriggle out of tight spaces as his close control is top notch. The Algerian international started his career with French outfit Rennes and even went on to represent France at various youth levels. However, he later opted to play for Algeria at the senior level.
