Liverpool would travel to the East Midlands to take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium as part of the Premier League’s Saturday lunch-time kick off. The Reds had an outstanding start to their domestic campaign after three consecutive victories in the league, but they would now come across the Foxes, who could prove to be a tricky test for Jurgen Klopp’s players.
It is highly likely that the Liverpool manager will not make any changes to his starting XI and would deploy his favoured 4-3-3 formation once again.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Leicester City
Defence
Alisson Becker will take his place in the Liverpool first XI while Simon Mignolet has to settle for a place on the bench after Loris Karius’ two-year loan move to Besiktas was finalised last weekend. The Brazilian goalie kept a clean sheet in each of his first three domestic matches for the Merseyside giants and would go into this clash full of confidence.
The central defensive partnership of Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez will be complemented by Trent Alexander-Arnold playing as the right-back while Andrew Robertson would be fielded on the left side of the backline. Both Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan will be sidelined for this encounter with the former looking to make a comeback after the international break.
Midfield
Klopp will once again hand the captain’s armband to James Milner, who will line up in the Reds midfield alongside the Guinean international, Naby Keita, and a hardworking Georginio Wijnaldum. The Liverpool midfield trio has been in a rich vein of form of late which is why Jordan Henderson is currently waiting on the sidelines and coming off the bench to provide some fresh legs in Klopp’s midfield.
Attack
Liverpool’s majestic front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Mohamed Salah will once again look to cause havoc up top. Salah was the match-winner last time out against the Seagulls while Mane found the back of the net in the opening two matches of the season. Maybe, it’s finally time for Firmino to join in on the goalscoring act for the Reds of Merseyside.
Daniel Sturridge and Xherdan Shaqiri is expected to start on the bench and may be called upon to make an impact during the latter stages of the contest.
