Everton could only manage a draw on the day as Richarlison was sent off and that was probably the only highlight of the first half, but the game turned on its head in the second half. Goals from Theo Walcott and Michael Keane launched Everton ahead but Bournemouth came back impressively with their resilience as goals from Joshua King and Nathan Ake earned the home side their draw. The focus is all on Silva’s Everton however after two draws and a win. Here’s how they’ve been rated after today.
GK : Jordan Pickford – 6/10
Distribution was a highlight of his game and he was really good whenever he was called upon. The goals his team conceded however wasn’t on him.
RB : Seamus Coleman – 5/10
He surely has to work on his positioning as he left a lot of spaces behind him. He has also lost his charm going forward. There’s no doubt that he has potential though.
CB : Mason Holgate – 4/10
Dismal positioning and some really awkward passing too. He really has to do better at the top level.
CB : Michael Keane – 6.5/10
Utterly dominant aerially and got his reward via a goal.
LB : Leighton Baines – 5/10
He’s been fading for some time now and today’s ridiculous challenge to give off a penalty seems to be making it worse. He has not had a good start to the season, but with his experience, one can hope he gets better.
CM : Idrissa Gueye – 5/10
Wasn’t involved a lot in the game.
CM : Tom Davies – 6/10
Played his part in the second half but probably didn’t do enough to challenge Schneiderlin for a place in the starting lineup.
CAM : Gylfi Sigurdsson – 8/10
His link-up play produced nostalgic moments of his Swansea City days where he used to stand-out every time. There was a great touch about his game today and his manager would be severely impressed.
RW : Theo Walcott – 7/10
His goal was well taken and his work ethic improved when Everton had lesser men.
LW : Richarlison – 3/10
Got sent off in a stunningly silly fashion and he was kept in check for as long as he was on the pitch.
ST : Cenk Tosun – 7/10
Energetic and put on a very neat show. Only the goal was missing from his performance today.
