Celtic would entertain Hamilton at Celtic Park this weekend hoping to build on their solid European excursion away at FK Suduva on Thursday night. The Hoops have recently struggled defensively and have conceded at least one goal in each of their past six encounters in all competitions. Hence, it’s high time that they put on a resolute defensive display in front of their home supporters on Sunday so that they can answer some of their critics.
Rodgers would be expected to choose a flexible 4-2-3-1 formation and might ring the changes for this clash. The Bhoys could be without the services of Jozo Simunovic who picked up an injury in midweek while Dedryck Boyata would also be out of action due to a muscle injury.
4-2-3-1 Celtic Predicted Lineup To Face Hamilton
Defence
Craig Gordon should keep his place in Rodgers’ team once again while Scott Bain has to sit on the bench. The central defence could be comprised of Jack Hendry and Mikael Lustig while both Cristian Gamboa and Callum McGregor operate as the full-backs.
The Celtic defence has not kept a single clean sheet in their past six outings across all competitions. Rodgers would hope that his makeshift backline can hold strong and cope with whatever the Hamilton attackers throw at them on Sunday.
Midfield
Scott Brown should retain his place in midfield and might operate alongside Olivier Ntcham, who recently scored a significant away goal for the Hoops against FK Suduva. The trio of Scott Sinclair, Tom Rogic, and Kieran Tierney could be deployed just ahead of them in the opposition half. They would be expected to link up play and create some chances for Moussa Dembele to feed on!
Rogic managed to find himself on the scoresheet last weekend during their Scottish League Cup match away at Partick Thistle so he would be confident about repeating the same feat on Sunday afternoon.
Attack
Moussa Dembele should lead the lines for the Bhoys up top after failing to score in midweek at Lithuania. The 22-year-old has already found the back of the net three times in 4 matches for the Glaswegian giants so far this season and would once again be responsible for producing the goods at Celtic Park.
