Unai Emery has endured a tough start to his stint at Arsenal as his side lost both of their opening encounters. Against Chelsea, they made a valiant effort by coming from two goals down, but Marcos Alonso snatched the game late to secure full three points for his side. The defeat would have been a bitter pill to swallow especially after coming back from two goals down. The defeat didn’t go down well with Emery’s assistant coach Juan Carlos Carcedo who was seen in an animated conversation with Lucas Torreira on the pitch after the game.
It’s believed that Carcedo was upset with Torreira on how he allowed Alonso to score the late goal. They both were seen to have a conversation and the assistant coach was pointing towards the area of the pitch from where the goal came and he clearly looked in an angry mood. Later, Carcedo turned and left for the changing room and Torreira went the other way to applaud the away fans.
Many are surprised by the fact that the Gunners haven’t started with the Uruguayan international in midfield in both the games. He was called rather early against Chelsea after Granit Xhaka put in a disappointing shift in the first half.
However, if one tries to analyse the last goal which Hazard setup for Alonso, Torreira was at fault as he allowed the Spanish fullback to continue his run in the box without marking him. If he would have stuck close to his man, the Uruguayan could have cleared the ball.

Maybe these are the reasons why he hasn’t been implemented into the first team but, one feels that he couldn’t do much worse than Xhaka who has been struggling to keep it tight in midfield since the last season.
