According to Bild, as cited by The Faithful MUFC, Manchester United are looking to add Alex Witsel to their side this summer. The report said that the 29-year-old player has been offered to them by the Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian.
Jose Mourinho, who is looking for better midfield options this summer than the ones he has at his disposal, is considering a move for the Belgian ace. The player can be a value for money one for the Portuguese manager as he looks to set the records straight at Old Trafford next season.
The Red Devils have a number of players they can deploy in the midfield, including the likes of Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic and the young Scott McTominay. They have also added the Brazilian enforcer Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer and it looks to have completed their search for midfielders.
However, with the ones other than Fred not being able to perform at the highest level, Mourinho is looking to keep his options open and could look to add Witsel to the side. The player was a vital cog in the Belgian lineup for their World Cup campaign as they went onto reach the Semi-final of the tournament and that seems to have made Mourinho think about the player as an option for the next season.

The 29-year-old is known to be a beast in the midfield and can be a very good addition to the Manchester United lineup this summer. He has a £17m release clause on him which might not be a big headache for the cash-rich club and it seems that the player is destined to arrive at the club before the transfer window closes.
